MicroInvest opens International Education Week at American Corner, Khujand
Every year International Education Week is celebrated on the second week of November. This year IEW was held on November 14-18 with the purpose of conducting various educational activities by emphasizing the importance of education.
American Corner in Khujand hosted again Nasiba Mirpochoeva – Project Manager of MicroInvest MCF and alumna of different exchange programs, last were in the U.S. by Community Solutions program. She made the first day of the International Education Week by addressing 17 goals the U.N. made for the sustainable development of the planet. During the presentation Nasiba made strong address to the issues today the whole Earth is facing -poverty, environmental pollution, climate changing, war conflicts and economic issues of the whole world.
She opened up all the 17 Sustainable development goals and their significance made it clear why United Nation put all these goals to achieve by 2030.
The Q&A session wrapped up the session and Nasiba was open for the questions to answer. Very interesting questions and answers made a final message for the presentation: Think globally-Act locally!
Results: The presentation was remarkable as an opening for the IEW, this presentation made participants think over the issues the whole humanity is facing, prosperity of humanity depends on good quality education more than ever. The event was attended by 38 students of high schools and universities.
